Pharmacokinetic Study
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of C-Fence (novel sustained-release vitamin C) in healthy human subjects.
For subjects in the group taking a once daily 500mg dose of C-Fence, Vitamin C plasma levels were significantly higher. and stayed well above baseline for up to 24 hours after dosing with a good safety profile.

The current RDA in the United States is 75 mg for women and 90 mg for men, with an additional 35 mg for smokers. However, it is important to appreciate that the RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) is the average amount of a nutrient a healthy person should get each day from their dietary intake (food).

There is a myth is that Ascorbates are better absorbed or safer than Ascorbic Acid. The fact is that both Ascorbates and Ascorbic Acid are similar in most respects including their action when exposed to gastric acid post oral consumption i.e., both hydrolyze into ascorbate ion and the cation (Ca+2 or Mg+2 depending on the salt form), with the only differentiation being that in Ascorbic Acid the cation is H+
