“Take care,” is one of the most enduring and commonly used farewell phrases in America. It expresses warmth and conveys a hope that the other person enjoys good health through mindful practices.
Indeed, self-care begins with a conscious willfulness/intention to control factors that may improve overall well-being and health. It is a vow to oneself to adopt lifestyle practices that nourish the body, mind and spirit to the best of one’s ability.
More than ever, Americans are now paying attention to what truly matters – looking beyond the surface. A recent survey found that 77% of Americans are switching their priorities from achieving the “perfect beach body” to feeling good inside and out, and improving overall wellness and vitality.
The new survey, conducted by Talker Research on behalf of Metagenics, queried 2,000 US consumers and found that 30% are adopting a more mindful approach to their health in 2024. This shift stems from an increased awareness of body cues (e.g., fatigue, cough), mental processes as well as emotional cycles. This self-awareness is higher than it’s ever been, and creates a preventative, proactive mindset to wellness rather than reactive, which results in use of OTCs and doctor visits.
Of course, everyone wants to look their best – but the shift is towards understanding that feeling their best often leads to looking their best – when you feel great, you radiate it.
Interestingly, when asked about which habits they prioritize to ensure they feel good and stay healthy, the top response was sleep (50%); followed by eating a nutritious diet (49%) and engaging in enjoyable exercise (44%). Other self-care habits include saying “no” to activities, events and people that feel emotionally or physically draining, (38%), and spending more time in nature (36%).
When self-care-minded people don’t feel their best, nearly half of the respondents take a nap (45%), go for a walk (29%) or take a moment in solitude (24%) – all regenerative and restorative activities.
According to a 2023 YouGov survey, nearly one-third (32%) of US consumers engage in self-care activities every day. Additionally, a substantial portion (43%) reported practicing self-care at least once a week, reflecting a consistent commitment to personal wellness. .
The top reasons cited for prioritizing self-care include improving physical health (53%), reducing or managing stress (52%), and enhancing mental and emotional well-being (50%). Other motivators include increasing energy levels (36%), improving immune function (34%) and boosting self-esteem and self-worth (31%), which are closely related to good mental and emotional health.
In the workplace, self-care plays an important role for both men and women. Survey data shows that people practice self-care not only to prevent burnout but also to increase productivity and focus.
The Role of Sleep in Self Care
According to an article from Low Country Behavioral Health (LCBHealth.com) – “In 2025, sleep is considered one of the pillars of self-care. With rising concerns about the effects of poor sleep on mental health, people are looking for ways to improve their sleep quality. This includes sleep hygiene practices, like reducing screen time before bed, creating a calming pre-sleep routine, and optimizing the sleep environment (e.g., using weighted blankets, essential oils, or white noise machines).”
Melatonin remains go-to solution for those seeking a drug-free approach to better sleep. However, most melatonin supplements release their full dose immediately and typically lasts for only about 4 hours, roughly about half the duration needed to support uninterrupted sleep.
Melotime™, however, is engineered to provide sustained 8-hour sleep support. The first 50% of the dose is released in the first hour, followed by a timed released of the remaining dosage across subsequent hours. This release profile ensures the right dose of melatonin is delivered throughout the night without causing morning drowsiness.
A recent study validated Melotime™’s prolonged-release benefits. Participants in the study either received Melotime™ or an immediate-release (IR) melatonin. The results showed that Melotime™ achieved higher plasma concentrations between 4 to 8 hours, and an extended half-life of 5.10 hours, compared to just 1.01 hours for IR melatonin.
While sleep remains a cornerstone of self-care, it is only one piece of the wellness puzzle. From boosting immunity and managing stress to improving mood, focus, physical comfort, and long-term well-being, many individuals are now turning to smart supplementation to support their broader health goals.
Below are Nutriventia’s clinically validated ingredients (apart from Melotime™) that align with these evolving needs and help reinforce holistic well-being.
Immune Resilience – C-Fence™
C-Fence™ is a direct compressible granule of vitamin C, powered by modified-release technology that periodically releases small but effective doses of vitamin C for 24 hours of sustained support.
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study participants consuming a once-daily 500 mg dose of C-Fence™ exhibited significantly higher plasma vitamin C levels, which remained well above baseline for up to 24 hours compared to placebo.
Stress Support – Prolanza™
Prolanza™ is a science-backed ashwagandha root-only extract to be clinically effective at both 150 mg and 300 mg once-daily doses. It delivers dose-dependent benefits for stress, mood, memory, sleep, and eating behavior. Developed using Nutriventia’s pharmaceutical-grade delivery platform, Prolanza™ ensures sustained release of withanolides over 24-hours- offering full day support with just one convenient dose.
Energy and Focus – CaffXtend™
As per YouGov survey many Americans engage in self-care to prevent burnout, CaffXtend™ provides an innovative solution, It delivers calm, sustained energy and enhanced focus that lasts for up to 12 hours, without the anxiety, crashes or overstimulation often caused by regular caffeine. Using a patented microbead matrix, CaffXtend™ gradually release caffeine to maintain steady plasma levels and reduce common side effects like tension, headaches and mental fatigue. Clinically validated it has been shown to outperform immediate-release caffeine in maintaining alertness and mood.
Physical Comfort – TurmXTRA™
Those engaged in self-care practices tend to exercise and push themselves to reach new physical achievements, such as adding weight, jogging or walking more meters and miles. Stressing the muscles to do more often results in delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), which can delay further routine exercise. Routine physical activity also can create joint discomfort. TurmXTRA™ was demonstrated to noticeably reduce DOMS. And a new study showed that only 250 mg TurmXTRA™ daily for 3 months enhanced knee function and comfort, especially in healthy, active individuals with mild to moderate knee OA.
Conclusion
July 24 is international Self Care Day, and we hope it can inspire and motivate millions of people to take stock of their current well-being and health, and slowly but surely incorporate routines and supplements that help improve both wellness and healthspan. Promoting self-care is a core mission of Nutriventia and our innovative ingredient solutions.
